The Department of Computer Science & Engineering at Viswam Engineering College was established in 2006, offering a robust B.E. in CSE program with an annual intake of 120 students. In 2012, the department further advanced its academic portfolio by launching the M.E. in Software Engineering program with an intake of 18 postgraduate students, all affiliated to JNTUA, Anantapuramu.
